You can never really go home again

~ Went back and visited Suzie's old school and home in Whitewater this afternoon. She went to Roseman on the UW-Whitewater campus from Kindergarten to 8th grade.

That might seem odd, and I'm not sure of details, but there was a regular, classic K-8 school embedded on the Whitewater campus for teaching purposes. That ended with my wife's 8th grade class in 1970 or so.

You can see the peak of her old house poking up over the roofline towards the left top. She told me those are the windows of her parent's bedroom. Her childhood memories are full of this place - learning to ride her bike around these campus buildings, sneaking over to go sledding at Starin Park, and breaking her arm falling from the bleachers in the field (track and football) that used to be near here, across the street from her house, right in the middle of campus.
