Mt Lemmon (O'odham: Babad Doʼag) is the highest point in the Santa Catalina Mountains in the Coronado National Forest on the north side of Tucson. It's peak stands 9,157 feet (2,791 m) above sea-level, and gets an avg snowfall of 180 inches/yr. It is home to the southernmost ski recreation area in the entire Northern Hemisphere. Mt. Lemmon is named for a rocking scientist chick, botanist Sarah Plummer Lemmon, who trekked to the top of the mountain with Native American guides in 1881.
