2012 SITS February @ IIT
This month the theme was Understanding Architecture through 2-D Art.
Mosaic - Teens did some nice work using charcoal and pastels to scale up a small abstract image. Each tile was one part of 5 compositions that had to then be assembled and displayed. The final composition represented 4 famous buildings with one wild card to keep things interesting.
Collage - The theme was 'How to Make Chicago Better.' The source material for images were a mix of architecture and landscape architecture with general life based periodicals. This collaborative exercise is used in both design schools and within professional offices as a brainstorm activity and is effective for presentations.
Thanks to everyone who came out on a beautiful Saturday morning!
Thanks to IIT School of Architecture for hosting this month's studio!
