A rare 1955 Studebaker Ambulet. The Ambulet was a sub-model of the 2-door Commander Conestoga Station Wagon. The model included a stretcher, red cross decals, and other ambulance features. The Ambulet was promoted primarily for police and fire departments, as well as for small-town funeral homes, many of which provided ambulance services at the time.
Photographed at the International Station Wagon Club Annual Convention in Springfield, Illinois on June 23-27, 2015.
