Howling Dog
Face Rock State Park, Bandon Beach, Bandon, OR.
This is my favorite beach for sunset pictures. In fact, my very first upload in Flickr was from Bandon Beach and you can see it here:

There is an interesting Native American legend that tells the story about how these sea stacks were formed. This rock is said to be the howling dog. You can read about the legend here:

This picture is a composite of images that I shot in 2010 when I visited the beach last. The sky is from a HDR image, but the foreground (sea stacks and the beach) was processed from a single RAW Image. I thought ‘HDR clouds’ brought about lots of drama and vivid color.
