Rainforest Flow: A House of the Children Project
Rainforest Flow: A House of the Children Project, was presented in the Fleet Room on Thursday, Mar. 6. Those who attended learned more about this important program and indigenous people of the rainforest.
Nancy Santullo, founder and director of Rainforest Flow, has been working with the Matsigenka Indians who live within the borders of Manu National Park in Peru. House of the Children empowers indigenous people by promoting health, education, and community organization so they can flourish within their traditional homelands and way of life. It promotes an exchange of knowledge among indigenous villages that enables individuals, communities, and inter-community organizations to defend their lands and traditions from outside economic interests, encroachment, and cultural erosion.
