Morris Campaigns Against Underage Drinking

The Morris County Freeholders have issued a proclamation in support of a community awareness campaign is underway in Morris County to prevent underage drinking. The campaign, called “Parents Who Host, Lose the Most: Don’t be a Party to Teenage Drinking,” calls attention to the subject of underage drinking and sends a message to parents that it is against the law to provide alcohol to anyone under the age of 21. The campaign will run until the end of June, through prom and graduation season, although the message is one to be remembered throughout the year. Here, Freeholder Director William Chegwidden issues the proclamation at the May 9 freeholder work session in Morristown. Looking on, left to right, are Steve Nebesni, Municipal Alliance Coordinator; Vince Fiorito of the Municipal Alliance Committee of the Chathams; Barbara Kauffman from Morris County Prevention is Key; Chegwidden; and First Assistant Morris County Prosecutor Thomas Zelante.
