Niño Kichua

This is a picture of a Kichua boy of the comunity of Kotococha, in the Ecuadorian Amazon rainforest. The presure of colonization and the timber companies are pushing them to extintion. With an area no bigger than 300 hectares, they are now unable to hunt for food like their ancestors. The children of the tribe fight to keep their traditions while more of the young and older people are pushed to migrate to the cities. Today, a small group of Kichua people try to save their tradition through ecoturism and showing the world the rich culture inherited from their ancestors which danced in this lands thousands of years ago.
