Getting Into Position
Found this black-crowned night-heron getting into position for hunting in the marshy shallow water. They can be quite patient too, sometimes found hunched over in the same position for an extensive time while waiting on some type of aquatic delight. They will defend their "hunting grounds" or territory as well, should another opportunistic feeder come along.
What I find most fascinating about them is that quite striking red eye ... they simply grab my attention.
Happy Sunday everyone!
