A Sword for a Maiden - Jordis (3/6)

I started to rise.

My status as a noble didn't matter, in the army I was just a woman willingly to protect the people and do my duty.

But, as a noble, I was taught to aim high and so I did.

I couldn't be a common soldier forever, I wanted to be more,

I did everything I could to earn my place and more, I fought whenever the Jarl said to fight and I put my life on the line everytime I was ordered to, I sacrificed myself to the point I wasn't the owner of my own life anymore, but just a puppet in the hands of someone else.

All these sacrificed payed me back, and I became captain of the guards right after the Civil War started.

We started to kill each others like sworn enemies, but until yesterday we were brothers and sisters.

Was it Ulfrik's fault? Or King Torygg's fault?

I didn't know, in the end the ones who pay in this war are the weaks and the defenseless while the Thalmors watch us die, mocking us, like ravens wait for they preys to die before they can devour them.

I did the only thing I could: I put aside my ego and my ambitions for the people.

I stood up with my men to protect Solitude.
