From the top of Haystacks looking into the Buttermere & Ennerdale Valleys, with High Crag/Stile in the middle..

We headed up Fleetwith Pike from Gatesgarth, 2127ft (648mts).. Took us just over an hour & half to get to the top. After some lunch we headed off to go to the summits of Haystacks (Hay Stacks) at 1959ft (597mts), hard & slow going in the snow & ice & mud. Took us two & a half hours to get to two summits of Haystacks.! Pausing for more refreshments then off down Scarth Gap in the ever encroaching darkness.. Good job we had the torch.! Seven hour walk, slow going in the snow, ice, mud & darkness!
