Mehandi ;))) What are they searching for?

Thanks for viewing the previous Mehandi pictures and your interest in knowing more about it makes me post these pictures.

A paste of Hena (a flowering plant) is packed in tubes and squeezed out by artists on the hands (sometime on the feet too) of women, it is allowed to dry on their skin and is not washed overnight a reddish maroon color appears where the Hena was applied,

It is part of most Indian wedding and is a total fun time, the bride and her friend in the picture is actually searching for the letters that make the grooms name, after the wedding the groom has to find all the letters of his name on her hand, hehe believe me its not a easy task.

The brides Mehandi took about close to 2 hours, the others were done in about 30 minutes each depends on the design they choose to sport on their hands. The picture at the bottom is the brides hand almost done on one side the other is done when this dries a bit.
