26 by 26 Challenge #5 - Be inspired to be brave – Spencer Murphy
A trip to the Peak District gave me the opportunity to photograph climbers on the famous Stanage Edge. As a child I had terrible fear of heights, but this is something I've grown to embrace over the last few years. I'm not too bad these days as long as I feel safe.
I saw this climber perched on a ledge and thought it would be great shot to capture if I could only get level with him. This meant dropping down onto a ledge from the top without any safety equipment and the wind was very strong up there too. My heart began to race just thinking about it but it was time to test my nerve. So I decided to be brave and carefully lowered myself down with my camera and captured exactly what I wanted. I hope you like the result.
