Hamilton Harbour Tints
Quad Tone experiment View On Black
The top 2 were direct out of Adobe Lightroom 2 using the split toning sliders. I have built a library of presets which allow me to choose an initial settings and then make all the fine adjustments by hand.
I highly recommend Lightroom 2 for both film and digital photographs as it's new digital darkroom functionality is vastly improved over version one.
A description of how I did the bottom 2 is unlikely to be of much use as they were not done in PS. The majority of my post processing after lightroom is done with a program called picture window pro rather then the more common photoshop. This software as the ability to tone map black and white into as many tints. There is also fine control of how the tints are blended.
Personally I would combine the in HSV colour space the HS of the bottom left corner with the V channel of the top right.
