Thomas The Tank Engine
He is real after all...
As part of Finn's birthday celebrations, we went out west of Auckland to the Glenbrook Vintage Railway on Saturday for their twice annual Friends Of Thomas festival.
Megan really only stumbled across it two weeks ago and everyone was very sceptical about the quality of the trains. To be honest we were expecting them to have paint an engine blue and stuck a cardboard face on the front of an existing engine.
However, their Thomas was absolutely brilliant and looked like the real thing. Meg, Nana and Granddad took Finny for a ride in him whilst David marvelled from the side of the tracks at how much work these dedicated amateurs do to put on such a great event. Not sure how the licensing works over here but the whole thing cost nothing if you just wanted to walk around and look at the trains. The kids all loved it.
Bravo. A credit to New Zealand.
