Startrails redux
Eureka! I figured out what I did wrong the last time. I combined 41 images here using Iris, which has a command line interface. I accidentally combined them using the Add2 instead of Add_Max2 command. Silly me. :-)
This is a combination of 41 images, each 30 seconds long at 18mm, ISO 400. The light pollution on the bottom left is from a nearby road. I combined the images in Iris and tweaked it in Photoshop to make the startrails more visible in shrunk down versions of the image... The star colors are real, though the white balance might be off.
I think it looks much better on black
