The Valencia was the first of the five Loew's "Wonder" theaters. (The others are the Kings in Brooklyn, the 175th Street in Manhattan, the Paradise in the Bronx, and the Jersey in Jersey City.) The theaters were called "Wonder" because of their Wonder organs.
Originally a combination movie and vaudeville house, it was strictly film by 1935. The theatre closed n 1977.
