This was O'Neil's tavern-Bucktown
Northwest corner of Leavitt and Wilmot. I saw a television for the first time in my life as I peeked in the side door on Wilmot street. To a five year-old, the little screen flickering with images of two boxers hitting each other was amazing. I can still conjure the smell of cigarette smoke and beer wafting out the door. Was it really 62 years ago?
