026.100 Alexandra

April 13, 2014

Despite the bright sunshine, the warming power of the sun could not beat out the icy wind blowing from the north. In spite of the wind, I ventured out to do a photowalk with a group of guys. I was not really into the theme of the walk, but proceeded out anyway. Being that we were in suburbia, it would be unlikely that I would come across many people out and about. However, a lone pedestrian caught my eye with her scarf billowing in the breeze and her sunglasses reflecting the bright blue sky. I hesitated, unsure if I should deviate from the assignment and she passed me by. As fate would have it, I caught up to her a few minutes later when she stopped, apparently waiting for something or someone. Taking the second chance I approached.

This is Alexandra. I introduced myself and asked if she would participate in my project; without hesitation she agreed, but before we talked much more, her boyfriend walked up and we explained what was going on. He was agreeable and was even willing to participate himself. I wanted to get her sunglasses in the shot, as that was one of the things that attracted my attention, but given the design and high reflectivity, it was difficult. After we had finished our photo shoot, we chatted for a few minutes. Alexandra is interested in photography, which was one of the reasons she agreed so quickly. She was taking some general business classes while working part time.
