In the tradition of the "city beautiful" movement, the Tuxedo Park Company combined parkland with higher learning in this proposed Winnipeg suburb. However, its plans for the city's "best residential area" proved far more ambitious than what actually transpired. The University of Manitoba did not build in Tuxedo Park, and Olmstead Park did not materialize until 1965. (The Canadian West - Collections Canada – Library Archives Canada). Surveyed by C. C.
