17 June 2019, Geneva, Switzerland: Presiding bishop Elizabeth Eaton shares the experience of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America as a church piloting the Waking the Giant initiative in the United States. On 17 June, the Lutheran World Federation launches an online tool designed to help churches monitor, assess and coordinate their vital development, humanitarian and human rights work. The "Waking the Giant" program links the churches to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
