96 balanced

96 minutes at the balanced rock in Arches National Park. A night with no wind and pleasant temperatures. Right after the astronomical twilight I started taking shots for this star trail. The core of the Milky way was still below the horizon so I had to wait until past 2 am to take the picture I uploaded about two weeks ago.

I used an ISO and aperture combination to avoid blowing out the stars and capture some of their colors. The color of a star indicates its temperature. Blue-white stars are much hotter than the Sun, whereas red stars are cooler.

I edited the image to enhance the vibrancy and give to the star trails the comet look with tapered ends.

Here is the time lapse with minor editing www.flickr.com/gp/lucian-f/qy7e61
