linux-works
fanless mini-itx motherboard (asus at3iont)
nvidia 'ion' graphic video chip and dualcore intel 'atom' cpu.
100% fanless. no power supply fans (PSU is onboard and takes 18v dc from a brick) and no disk drive spinning noise (ssd on far right).
this video chip CAN play 1080i (the highest I have) in pure hardware. win7 and the MS media player give smooth video playback. audio out is toslink spdif and is dts-passthru as well as bit-perfect spdif. of course the video is hdmi. the blue light on the back is built-in bluetooth and the antenna (far left, horizontal) is wifi b/g/n.
all seem to work under ubuntu linux 10.x as well as xp and win7.
thumbs up for this deluxe board combo; and onboard PSU gives it a very tangle-free mostly wireless install ;)
(yes, I do plan to run this without any top on the case. its fanless but not exactly cool running; but with no case top you should NOT need a fan for this)
