Bonanza Hair-Styling, Giant Scissors of Death
One don't need documentation to know this was a Bonanza, but with a February 1969 transaction to "Bonanza Int'l Development" of Nevada, there's no doubt! The land this Bonanza sits on became "Lot 1, Bonanza Subdivision". A couple years later next-door "Lot 2" of this mini-Ponderosa was sold to Red Lobster. Bonanza itself was finished and opened for business presumably by late 1969.
Although I do remember Bonanza, we were more likely to go to the (now baby blue) Western Sizzlin' further up the road. Ah, colors abound on the Retail Road to Graceland! Bonanza lasted maybe 10 years, after which it was a long-running Chinese place (China Inn?), possibly by a 1979, surely by a 1988 ownership transfer.
Now, just the giant scissors alone might make Dan Blocker scream like a little girl!
UPDATE: Found some cool old yearbook pics of this place!
