Peep Bubbles

Sunday morning Christy joined us for swimming again, and then afterwards we headed over to her and Jason's place for an egg hunt. The funniest part was Paige not quite understanding that these eggs (a) didn't have candy inside them and (b) were fragile. No worries though as Aunt Christy came to the rescue with an Easter basket with goodies, and a few toys - including a Peeps bubble blower

After Paige's nap we went over to the nearest Mississippi River levy for a little exploring. Having grown up in Colorado, rivers like the Missouri and the Mississippi are a little foreign to Christy and I, so I wanted to make sure Paige got a little exposure while we were there.

After the river, we went bowling for an hour where Paige schooled her Old Man, who apparently was entirely too tuned into the Wii to do anything with a real bowling ball. I entered the names as Jason, Brat, Marna, Paige and Champ (using our dad's nicknames for us). That turned out to be the points order too - ouch. It was a lot of fun though.

For dinner we went over to TJ Ribs (no website?) where Christy and Jason had the obligatory ribs, Marna had a chicken salad, I had a sausage poboy and Paige had chicken fingers (her favorite) and a tantrum/meltdown involving shattered glass (eeek). For my friends in Kansas City, this is more like what you're used to, and stood up well to classic KC barbecue.

We took it easy on Monday as we made our way back to New Orleans, and then to Denver. By the time we got home, Paige was exhausted. We were all exhausted. Happy to be home, we all slept in Tuesday morning (8 AM). A very many gracious thanks to Christy, Jason, and Jason's parents for their hospitality. We look forward to visiting again in the future.
