Automation History

at Quarry Bank Mill

The process of drawing out and twisting fibres taken from bobbins from the slubbing machine at the top. A pair of bobbins are twisted together and drawn to even out the yarn and may be performed a number of times. They are twisted together by flyers. A rotating hoop device above the bobbins at the foot of the machine.

If a finer yarn is required, they will need to pass through the Roving Frame and the Jack frame.
