Leif Ericson

This ship was designed by Star Trek's Matt Jeffries for a series of AMT Models that were going to be their own version of a federation style universe. This was the first in the series, and it failed causing AMT not to go any further. These kits came with a cardboard record inside that had the "Space...the final frontier..." sound to it. It was later reissued as the Interplanetary UFO Mystery Ship and released in their Star Trek line. The ship never appeared in Trek, but it has, in various configurations, graced sci fi book covers and other ships. By the way, this is a repost. I did some modifications on the pic which I wanted to add. Also, a company called Round 2 has reissued this kit. In the kit, on the instructions, is a reprint of the Leif Ericson back story, just like the original. All that is missing in the repop i the cardboard record, which I found on Ebay, and the chrome on the landing legs and phaser turret. Great kit, nice to see it out again.
