The view from the cliffed coastline near L-Aħrax tal-Mellieħa, at the north-western end of the island of Malta, known as the Irdum tal-Madonna

This strip of linear, rugged cliffs, full of rock debris, was identified as an Important Bird Area (IBA) by BirdLife International because it supports 500 breeding pairs of yelkouan shearwaters.

The area is also used as a campsite by tourists, and is one of the attractions of cruise boats like the Fernandes II (pictured).
