CMCP installation

in the fall of 1997, returning from an extended railrun on the freights, we found a railroad photography exhibition called Track Records: Trains and Contemporary Photography / Chroniques en rail: trains et photographie contemporaine on display at the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography. curated by Marnie Fleming (who also edited the catalogue), the show ran from 18 July - 28 September & included photography, film, video, sculpture, graphics, assemblages & music. besides depositing a rather lengthy review of the show in their guestbook (written over a period of some 5 or 6 hours in 2 sittings, with pastedown plates inserted! (see www.flickr.com/photos/48593922@N04/6328135365/ & www.flickr.com/photos/48593922@N04/6326761929 for 2 of'em)), we thrice mounted our own little cheesy photocopy show of some of our own random railshots, one for each riser of the staircase into the place. they were, of course, removed immediately, hence the 3 strikes. a photograph of the 2nd installation appeared on the front cover of MO' GUMBO 11 (Victoria, 1999) but that was it for public documentation. some excerpts from the review (slightly edited) are appended under the individual photos.
