A Night in Manarola
During our trip to Italy we only had one full day in Cinque Terre. I feel like we could have spent weeks there and still been happy. We started our day in Monterosso and decided to head out on the hiking trail to Vernazza. The trail passed through vineyards and along the cliffs overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It was quite picturesque, but also a surprisingly challenging hike. There was a bit more climbing than I think we had anticipated, and by the time we got to Vernazza we were starting to feel tired.
We spent the rest of the day exploring the small town of Vernazza before eventually heading back to Manarola, where we were spending the night. We ate dinner then climbed up our last hill of the night to our B&B where we had a room with this amazing private terrace overlooking the town. It was such a relaxing experience to sit outside and enjoy the nighttime view, listen to the waves crashing, and have a glass of the local limoncello before heading to bed.
