Carson Pirie Scott -- Randhurst II (Mount Prospect, IL)

Camera: 600SE

Lens: Mamiya 127mm 4.7

Film: Portra 400 overexposed

The history of this location is a bit complex. Carson's spearheaded the development of the original, enclosed Randhurst Center in 1962, however this three-level anchor was originally built for Wieboldt's. Bergner's would briefly succeed them after the former's bankruptcy and liquidation in the mid-80s, only to absorb Carson's in 1989 and subsequently reorganize under Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

With the names now among the same parent company, Bergner's rebranded this store as Carson's and closed their original location, which was quickly filled by JCPenney (and later demolished for the present-day Costco). Carson's would remain here as the enclosed Randhurst was de-malled and converted to a modern lifestyle center toward the end of the aughts, and live to see one more exterior facelift upon the completion of the present-day Randhurst Village.

I'm told this was one of Carson's better-performing stores in recent years.
