Christmas Pressie - £39 + post Dapol D5 Castle Class
Ex-GWR 4-6-0 No. 4090 Dorchester Castle with early British Railways crest on the straight-sided tender and double-chimney - that I am unsure whether that would not have happened later?? Please comment anyone who knows! Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year everyone! From the Hattons site this does look as if the catalogue number is D5Dapol which is a little odd.... next time in the attic I'll check the rather battered box. Looking on Hattons, I now thinnk the double-chimney is an addition as the picture there is identical in all other respects. Update: From a comment on a photo in Mike Morant's collection, this was photographed ex-works with double-chimney and he dated it as 1957.
