Day Three Hundred
It was bound to happen. I turn around only to witness the fall of a boom stand followed by the sound of breaking plastic. Hey, at least I it made it up to Day 300.
I purchased this particular 500EX off eBay sometime ago for about $100. It was in good shaped and actually came from a wedding photographer in the midwest just looking to upgrade. Nice and clean unit. That is till I got my hands on it.
It's been gaffer'd, clamped, shoved, bungee'd and jammed in all sorts of places since then. A good friend, who is an amazing photographer, was joking with me when he was visiting a few weeks ago that my gear looked like it's been on a few tours of duty. He's stuff is pristine! Like his EOS 1Ds Mark III is like NIB compared to my beater.
What can I say, I demand a lot from my gear. (I bet no one wants to buy any of my gear now) so while they might not be trailer queens the certain do their job at 110%. Because if they don't, I'll pound them. :P
