Ritmi R&B scatenati, riff di sassofono, schitarrate a profusione: composta da musicisti dell’area parigina e condotta con maestria dal sassofonista e cantante di origini gallesi Drew Davies, la Drew Davies & Rhythm Combo propone uno spettacolo dall’allegria contagiosa, un omaggio, nel centenario della nascita, al grande Louis Prima, celebre cantante sassofonista, compositore e bandleader, che negli anni 40-50, prima dell’avvento del rock ’n’ roll, fece ballare tutta una generazione con il suo esplosivo mix di swing, blues e boogie woogie! La band ha appena prodotto il suo primo album Ten Days Ten Nights.

 

Wild rhythm and blues, saxophone riffs, and a smoking guitar. Made up by Paris-area musicians and masterfully directed by Welsh saxophonist and singer Drew Davies, the Drew Davies & Rhythm Combo presents a contagiously cheerful show that is also a tribute to the great Louis Jordan on the 100th anniversary of his birth. Jordan was a famous singer, saxophone player, composer, and bandleader who in the 1950s and 1960s—before the advent of rock 'n' roll—made a whole generation dance to his explosive mix of swing, blues, and boogie-woogie. The band just released its first album, Ten Days Ten Nights.
