Happy Caturday

Meet Henry Fitzwilliam Lester "Hinky." Hinky came to our back porch on December 19th, 2023. My wife went outside to check on him and he immediately came to her. It was a cold night, and he was wounded, scared, cold, and very hungry. She brought him in to the house and put him in the spare room. The next day, we took him to the vet, who said that he was 8 months old and clear and free from any illnesses. They also told us that he had an implanted ID microchip, which means that we could find his humans.

The next day, we took him to the Dayton Humane Society, where his previous humans had adopted him. They were unable to give us his humans' contact information, but called them themselves every day for two weeks and left messages every time. Having received no answer for a month, Hinky became officially ours. He has a new home, name, family, and friends, and is a very happy young cat, although he is very afraid of the outdoors.

As for why his name is "Hinky," well, Hinky is an American word which means "questionable," "unreliable," or "suspect." It refers to something which is not quite right, something causing concern. The reason that this fits him so well is that he has a tendency to perch himself up high and launch himself on his unsuspecting and more sedate fellow kitties and to steal his Humans' food. He is cute, friendly, outgoing, cuddly, funny, intelligent, and endlessly entertaining, and the best Christmas present we have received in many years.
