Seeing an eagle is uncommon enough but having a close encounter like this one was a real treat! He caught a fish that too big for him to carry off. He had to just stay put and eat it while the vultures waited for scraps on one side and I was trying to sneak in for a decent shot on the other. He started getting so nervous I was afraid he would give up on his meal so I stayed back and did the best I could with my little 200mm lens. One of these days maybe I'll own a decent wildlife lens :)
