Stormy Serenity, End Of Day & Ends Of Days - IMRAN™
Stormy Serenity, End Of Day & Ends Of Days - IMRAN™
The dramatic sunset at Tampa Bay Florida, tonight was a mix of stormy clouds but weekend mild weather serenity. The slow dance of lights and shadows, brightness and darkness, life and death.
2/2 is the date I lost my beloved mother, 27 years ago today. It is true that over the years, the days of happy recollections outnumber the days of painful sorrow. However, on days like today, filled with meanings and memories, there can never be enough smiles to drown the millions of tears shed for an integral part of our lives taken decades too soon.
As Maghreb prayer time arrived, as night arose & day descended into Tampa Bay, it marked the time my flight was touching down in pre-dawn Lahore, as I made my way back to my Pakistan home. I had been over the Atlantic Ocean, en route to visit family, when my mother passed away. She was just over 50.
A few hours later, as morning light marked the start of a new day, it marked the end of days to us in many ways. As I helped return my mother to Mother Earth, as we laid her to rest, she seemed simply to be sleeping, an eternal sleep, never again to see daylight in mortal life.
Good morning and good night, beloved Ami, until I sleep at your and Abu’s feet one day of eternal night myself.
