The only way to travel
You say you hate that you can't find decent coffee when on a road trip? Sick of giving into having to go to Starbucks to get "real" coffee?
Check this out: Electric Hot Water Kettle $20-$30 ($100 if you must), Coffee Grinder $20 or you could pre-grind, Pour-Over Coffee maker $2-$5 or $.25 at a thrift store, and some paper filters $5? or permanet gold ones for $30 or better yet a cloth filter (which works better than the paper or gold filter, lets more oils through) and you can reuse it!
Oh and the coffee of your choice. My choice for drip is Stumptown Hairbender Coffee. Oh and don't forget a thermos.
Most likely you have all these things at home. It is a relatively small set-up to bring along on your next roadtrip that'll make your mornings so much more pleasurable. Trust me. Looking for a good spot for coffee or having to resort to "Super Xpresso Hut" ruins most mornings and you end up having to settle for diner coffee, which in theory is so Americana dope but really - for me I just end up grouchy from the kind of bad coffee they happen to be using.
I'm a snob.
