Seeing the wildebeest migration in person is something so fantastic, so spectacular, that I can't even begin to describe it.
Yes, you can watch it on television or on youtube, but to be there, to hear the constant and air-filling 'muuh'-sounds, to hear those thousands of hoofs approaching, to smell them, the dust flying and to watch them taking that dive into the dangerous water of the Mara river, is something completely different.
And when one takes that plunge, all others follow, without hesitation, no matter what lies in the waters waiting for them.
