The former Booth Board Mill (1912) in Ottawa, Ontario

The former Booth Board Mill (1912) in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

This large mill along the shores of the Ottawa River, was a major manufacturer of paper products in the early 1900s. It was built in stages by J. R. Booth, a local lumber baron, starting in 1912, enlarged in 1918 and again in 1928. It was originally constructed as a sulphite mill.

It continued to operate as a cardboard mill until 1970.

It is slated for demolition in the near future, and its grounds, to be renamed Union Square under Zibi Development's Heritage Interpretative Plan, already well underway.
