A USB flash drive (also thumb drive, memory stick and pen drive) is a data storage device that contains flash memory with an integrated USB interface. A USB drive is removable, rewritable, and smaller than an optical drive, usually less than 30 g (1 oz). Since USB drives first went on sale in late 2000, USB drive storage capacities have grown from 8 to 256 gigabytes (GB). As of 2023, 2TB flash drives will be the largest currently in production
