Air Afrique was a Pan-African airline, that was mainly owned by many West African countries for most of its history. It was established in 1961 as the official transnational carrier for francophone West and Central Africa, because many of these countries did not have the capability to create and maintain a national airline, and had its headquarters in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Ended operation in early 2002. The company operated 9 Airbus A.300: 5 of the series B4-203 and 4 of the updated series -600.

TU-TAT (c/n 282 series B4-203) was delivered new in September 1984. It was demaged beyond possible repairs on Feb. 11th 2000 at DKR when left main gear collapsed during take-off and wing took fire. Slide taken in FCO in February 1993.
