2013 Hummingbird Calendar on Calendars
So I did a search using Usage Finder ...and had it search thru my Getty Images set. When I sign on today, up popped a window with what sites for each image it found. I didn't think this add-on was working anymore, but I guess it is. So this hummingbird which has been licensed nine times through Getty is being sold on this calendar and on countless (there were 90 hits/sites listed for it)...poster sites...appearing alot of the time as "Tug at Nature" with a quote printed on it by John Muir. I hope these uses are at least legit...but makes me wonder if they are in fact legit...is it "legal" for a client to license one of our shots to a poster/calendar making type company to sell lots of (maybe?)..posters and calendars? I dunno..I guess it is--I suppose this is what RF licensing is all about! In total I've made $600 or $700 in royalties off this shot alone...which is pretty good. And I don't have to spend the time it would take to try and sell posters and calendars myself. I do have a calendar that I made on Red Bubble with all my best hummers on it..but so far, I am my own best customer...lol...as every year, I buy 5-6 of them (and Red Bubble is not cheap)...to give to my family members for Xmas.
well, I ordered a copy for myself of this one anyway! I really would like to find a good calendar making company online that is good quality but doesn't cost as much as Red Bubble for this coming 2013 Calendar extra Xmas present that I give my family peeps..Anyone have a suggestion?
