Autumn Olive

If you have this growing near you I'm sure you love the fragrant smell this time of year. An invasive species, autumn olive was introduced into the United States in 1830 and widely planted as an ornamental, for wildlife habitat, as windbreaks and to restore deforested and degraded lands. Photographed with some of the barn wood I salvaged from last year's project. The bottle I found at an antique store and measures 4.25 inches tall, it's an Edison Battery Oil bottle, made at the Bloomfield, New Jersey facility. Any guesses as to what battery oil was used for?
