Flowers and other plants with Canon 18-135mm IS STM

We had planned on outing on this day, but before heading out I wanted to shoot a few pictures in the yard. We are fast approaching the "dead period" of Autumn where everything pretty much goes dormant until the spring.

 

I was delighted to find a few flowers still in bloom.

 

The 18-135mm was fine for what I was doing but a Pileated Woodpecker showed up and I tried to snap a few pic's...unfortunately he flew away so I just grabbed a couple shots of PT Lumber chairs which I built with the long lens (the Sigma 100-400).

 

I actually liked the long lens effect...it makes you compose differently...forces some different angles.
