Germany, Stade, the former “hanseatic harbour” connected through the river “Schwinge” over a distance of 4 km with the River Elbe, the 14th longest Stream in Europe. The harbour, is not navigable anymore since 1970, is part of the picturesque mediaeval city centre & his history goes back around the year 1000 AC. Most of the timber-framed & other historic buildings within the historic city centre are from the 15 th to the 17 th century. In 1659 two third of the historic city were sacrificed by an enormous fire.
