Pratt residents noticed a strange Subaru Impreza driving around town on Tuesday. It was a Google Street View car.

Google Street View, featured in Google Maps and Google Earth, provides panoramic views from the street of many cities of the world. The photos are taken by a fleet of specially adapted cars. Each vehicle has GPS, three laser range scanners for the measuring of up to 164 feet in front of the vehicle and nine directional cameras for 360° views. These are all used for recording rough 3D models of the surroundings.

On June 6, 2012, Google announced that it has captured 20 petabytes of data for Street View, comprising photos taken along 5 million miles of roads, covering 39 countries and about 3,000 cities.
