Abdoun Bridge
I always visualized that i would shoot cars on this hanging bridge between Abdoun and the 4th circle in Amman.
in my daydream (yes,i do have day dreams about cars and bridges), i visualized the lights on the road side, and the front/rear lights of cars drawing a colorful painting . apparently i was right.
i had to station myself on top of a shipping container on a high point on one end of the bridge (not sure how it got there), a nice security guard for a nearby workshop offered me a ladder for the way up the container with my camera bag and a tripod. after i told him that i represent the environment protection dept , ahem...
it was a very interesting 2 1/2 hours. i was there before sunset, but the interesting stuff happened when it got darker.
seems that the guard found out i wasn't who i claimed i was, so decided to come back later and take the ladder without warning. i porbably had to make the biggest jump in my life. i used the tripod to dangle down the camera bag then make my jump.
all in all, it was worth it. more will follow from the same series.
slow shutter speed was used, I realized i had best results at around 15 seconds without container vibration, and 6 seconds was the safe limit. aperture was between f/16 and f/22 most of the time. lens: sigma 18-55mm f/2.8 / camera nikon D300 / wireless camera trigger phottix remote+receiver to minimize camera shake
