16th Annual Bike to Work Day
Kevin Aka, scraper bike creator and worker at Richmond Bike Shop, on the 16th Annual Bike to Work Day, which promotes biking as a lifestyle choice. The East Bay Bicycle Coalition setup more than 100 energy stations throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. According to coalition program director Dave Campbell, attendance has doubled over the last three years and the celebration now takes up a full month, including Bike to the Market Day and an outdoor bike-in movie nights with a pedal-powered projector.
