Continuing the drive up to Mt. Lemmon after my Ordinary Object photo yesterday interlude, the Catalina Highway takes you up to Summerhaven and Ski Valley on Mt. Lemmon. One hour from Tucson, it is amazing the changes from desert floor to Alpine forest. This area was the site of a large forest fire a number of years ago and though some of it has been rebuilt, evidence of the fire remains. I did not take many photos at the top but I liked this one with the tracks and the brush pattern. Below is a not so good shot in the afternoon shadows of the ski lift area. There were a few people snowboarding and skiing that day but not much snow. More is expected this coming week. My sister and I had coffee, chocolate and homemade pie at the Irondoor Restaurant which overlooks the ski area.
